Black intellectual, writer, radio journalist, author, organizer, former member of the BPP and supporter of MOVE, who has spent the last 30 years in prison, most of which was in solitary confinement on PA’s Death Row. PAM AFRICA
Chairwoman of International Concerned Family and Friends of Mumia Abu-Jamal, an international movement that seeks for his release, Philadelphia-based activist and freedom-fighter, and a member of MOVE. More here --
RAMONA AFRICA
Spokesperson for MOVE and one of two survivors of a 1985 bombing on the MOVE compound by the Philadelphia Police, which killed 11 members and destroyed 65 homes. More here --
PATRICE K. ARMSTEAD
Native of West Philadelphia, mother, community organizer and MSW candidate in the School of Social Work at Temple University. Her organizing is grounded in the ideology of the Black Radical Tradition. Her research interest is public housing and its relationship to gentrification and neoliberalism.
MEGHNA CHANDRA
Desi organizer in Philadelphia. She organized with the student worker movement with Penn Student Labor Action Project, helped found the People of Color contingent at Occupy Philadelphia, and organized protests in solidarity with Ferguson at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi. She also founded the Philadelphia South Asian Collective, a group of South Asian organizers dedicated to fighting Islamophobia, Hindu Fundamentalism, casteism, and capitalist white supremacy, and building across brown and black communities.
